Mirror on the Wall
“Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who in this land is fairest of all?”
“Me and you,” said the reflection,
Stretched its hand out of the mirror,
and grabbed my throat,
that was no affection.
“But I’ll only let that be, one of us two.”
Pulled me in and replaced us!
Left no mark, no clue…
Religious Dog
Day 15:
My dog still barks at the cross and stops only after turning it upside down. In fact, kneels before it after that.
A Childhood Memory
“We were around six that time. We were playing together, back-bending to see who’s more flexible, tongue teasing each other in the same pose, making funny faces and laughing.
I showed her how I could lift my arm for three seconds. She showed me how she could walk on the wall in that pose, tongue-tease with tongue sticking out even longer than her arm. The face she made, I didn’t find it funny at all as her mouth opened wide, close to her eyes and the laugh she let out, I still see that in the nightmares.”
Always Along
Tina began seeing the juice lady outside her window every night since she had a glass of pomegranate one from her shop; the very next day the lady had died. People say she was into witchcraft and had sacrificed herself cutting her own wrist and spilling the blood in the very vessel in which she had made the juice one last time.
A Wicked Laughter
“What if, God doesn’t exist, only devil does, and everything we know is just made up by him to keep us trapped?” I said to her an hour ago, she is still laughing.
